I I still think, you know, all these champions are just not very strong in my opinion. Vladimir just gets bullied too much. I know that Vladimir late game once he gets like three or four items becomes the strongest champion in the game, but I think that's a lot better suited in mid lane with a much shorter lane and against mages because they're not going to have as much kill pressure as some of these tanks and some of these bruisers that we've seen like Ambessa and Wukong, etc.

patch 7.1d

Scope: This section reflects state as-of patch 7.1d per Royal. May be outdated for later patches — see top-level Tier history. "I think Vladimir is a hidden OP pick after his buffs. Obviously you have to pick him in the right situation and in the right matchup, but he can definitely show up." — [[Sources/videos/2026-05-04-royal-tier-list-7.1d|Royal, 7.1d tier list]] (04:47) Why "hidden OP" in 7.1d: Patch 7.1d directly buffed Vladimir: Base armor: 34 → 37 Crimson Pact AP→Health conversion: 120% → 140% The armor buff helps lane survival; the increased AP→Health conversion compounds his AP scaling into more durability, which fits the tank-heavy meta Royal describes elsewhere in the video. Patch citation: [[Patches/7.1d#Vladimir]] Bias flag: "Right situation, right matchup" qualifier — Vladimir is conditional, not universal pick.

  • "The main reason more champions don't take it is no slow, resist, and burst. So, for example, if I'm playing Oriana or Synra and the enemy team uh has like a squishy champion or has even a bruiser, my goal is just oneot them, right? [ __ ] one shot them with a first strike or or something else. Fa Phas doesn't bring any value, especially because he has no um soul resist. Yeah, Vladimir, I guess, is another another uh another shout. So, the champions that go phase rush are champions that deeply need the mobility and don't really have another good rune. So, Rise and Vladimir can't really go first strike because they are short range, right? So, they never really get first strike. Can go common, but again, because they're short range, they don't really poke and there." (55:53)
