Commentary (7.1e)
- "And of course, it competes with electrocute and dark harvest on assassins. Next up, let's talk about I think phase rush because uh you don't really take phase on assassin. So, I'm just going to continue with the the list that Riot has." (23:30)
- "Yasuo in lane because she's dashing around might dodge accidentally a lot. I talk about phase rush which I think is like a very it's a weird rune. It's kind of underrated but it's a weird rune." (52:49)
- "So, this is an insanely interesting rune and the main thing that kind of holds it back is that it doesn't have slow resist. So, the problem with phase rush and the way that it has been used most in League of Legends in the past before it came out, Wild Rift was, let's say you're playing Oriana and Zo jumps on you, you're dead. What are you going to do if you don't have flash, right?" (53:37)
- "So if you do the same thing, Zenzai is still going to stick on you and kill you, right? That's kind of the idea of phase rush. It gives you some mobility and then lets you do another u sooner than before. So the main issue with Wild Drift and Phase Rush is that Wild Drift is also a heavy burst game. Like champions do a lot of damage and they don't survive a lot. So, for the most part, you're one-shotting champions. In team fights, you're one-shotting champions. Getting the mobility and utility from using your abilities again often doesn't happen. Let's say I'm playing Oriana or Syndra, which are common phase rush users in the past in League of Legends in Wild Rift. And this also like kind of like I don't think any does any champion build a phase rush in Wild Rift right now? I don't think they do." (54:06)
- "Yeah, Vladimir, I guess, is another another uh another shout. So, the champions that go phase rush are champions that deeply need the mobility and don't really have another good rune. So, Rise and Vladimir can't really go first strike because they are short range, right?" (56:17)
- "So they kind of go this route out of desperation of not really having better runes for them. Not that phase rush is perfect for them. Then other champions I go with are Lilia which again doesn't necessarily have a better rune." (57:01)
- "And he has the same issues of being a short range mage. So these short range mages kind of go phase rush because they can't really make good use of other runes more than anything even though they don't really like phase rush. So phase rush doesn't really become a choice of over other runes for a lot of champions. it kind of becomes a I can't really build anything else. I'm going to go phase rush. And the way that you want to use phase rush and the way it is used is I do a combo. I run away with my mobility." (57:48)
- "Who even play singed? And Gragas obviously does it for um I think that's only Baron lane AP Gragas that goes phase rush, right? Cuz he does his combo, he stuns you, he runs away while you're stunned or knocked up and stunned and then he can do it again. That's kind of the idea. But even on um like jungle Gragas, you usually go like first strike or you don't really go phase rush. You usually go first strike, but you can go first strike too or you can go phase rush as Um, then is Zenzho kind of does it to kind of keep chasing you forever and because Zenza wants to get his abilities back up, right? He wants to do his combo again on you, but even with Zenza, it's a little iffy to be honest." (59:01)
