  • "This is actually the one that you will adapt the most based on matchup. So if you're playing against like a really hard matchup it's very common to go like bone plating right? But if it's an easy matchup then you might look for like uh a scaling angle for sorcery. you might go gathering storm or you might go for uh transcendence, right?" (03:07)
  • "A lot of the times you want to go scorch so you can have a better laning phase so you can get to your late game, right? The you have to think about it like that as well. like you're not taking uh you're not taking for example let's say that you're playing I don't know Ziggs or something and you're going these runes probably not u actually manarchus and you're thinking oh I'm playing against the zed I'm not going to beat him early but I'm still going to go bone plating even though it doesn't give me value early instead of going I don't know you could go domination and go for zombie ward to get more AP for the late game or eyeball collector get more AP for the late game, but your late game is going to be worse if you go this rune because you're going to fall behind in gold and XP because you're playing in Zed and you don't have bone plating. But if you have bone plating, you can survive the lane and have a better late game. So just because you're playing a late game champion or you have a losing matchup, that doesn't mean, oh, let me invest in the late game, right? That means a lot of the time might mean let's survive. Let's use our runes to survive the early game so we can get to our late game scale scaling, right? Uh then there's some more obvious runes based on enemy team comp. The most obvious by far is bone plating versus second wind, right? Let's say that you're playing uh Akali mid versus a Fizz, right? Fizz cannot really proc your bone plating unless he goes in on you. So bone plating is really good against Fizz. Second wind, however, will have less value even though you're a mele champion. Mele champions love second wind because they get like the empowered effect. You're not going to get that much value as you would for bone plating. Then there's some matchups like Mel for example where she pokes a lot. Let's say you're playing a Mel. Mel pokes a lot. Second win makes sense. But Mel's first ability procs multiple time on bone plating. So by going bone plating, you block like the first three ticks off her Q, right? So bomb lane is still better in this case. So you're kind of making the choice between poke and uh poke and anti-burst, right? But the the thing is bone plating against let's say you're playing a cat to zed. Bone plating might not actually be the choice for that matchup. It might be something like second wind. And that's because zed can proc bone plating very easy. So what good zed will do is throw his Q, his shuriken, and proc your bone plating and then go for a trade or an allin. or you might throw his we that will prog your bone plating and then throw your shuriken. So when you don't have bone plating up, right? So that's something to consider as well. Uh so your matchup adaptation for your runes is really really important. Then you have the kind of consistency versus high risk, right? There's some higher risk runes that you can take. again, bone plating is more of a safe anti-burst rune if you're playing like an if you're playing a mage, but you can go for like a more greedy rune and go for the zombie ward, right? That falls more on how greedy do I want to be with my rune page." (09:57)
  • "Uh and it's rare that you're going to go precision and then take cheap shots here on like ADC, right? Because most of the time you're going to get more value from bone plating. So that the main issue with cheap shot is where it's located. it's very hard to really make use of it." (01:06:24)
  • "Um, he constantly procs it. Next up, we have the two most broken runes in the game, which is second wind and bone plating. And somehow nullifying orb has sneaked right in there." (01:31:56)
  • "Pretty much every champion that goes resolve goes second wind. Bone plating is mostly a rune that you as a minor rune when you're playing against burst or to improve your early game trading. So if you're playing melee, you're pretty much always going second wind. Uh if you're playing ranged, you're going bone plating. And then as a last rune, most of the time you're going bone plating. Even though some champions can go second wind, like a mid lane, Akali, Yasuo type of thing that want a little extra sustain. Uh now in terms of nullifying orb this can be okay in the jungler department right because if you look at the stats right look at you're comparing it to bone plating here right so you have 60 to I didn't really explain what the runes do all right so second one gain five health every 5 seconds after taking damage from an enemy champion regenerate six plus 2% of your missing health over the next 5 seconds this effect is doubled for melee champions so you get an insane amount ount of um healing and sustain throughout the laning phase. After every trade, you heal even more. Second wind will usually heal about 1k. Bone plating usually around 1.2k, but one point but second wind is healing. While bone plating is damage blocked, right? It's different. So for melee champions, you're pretty much always going second wind to help you with a sustain in lane while bone plating is going to be more useful against burst. What you have to keep in mind with bone plating as well is that smart opponents will proc bone plating and then go for the aggressive trade, Uh but both are really really OP. So bone plating is mostly a choice for range champions or a last rune choice. So like most ADCs, let's go like an ADC rune to highlight the point will do a rune page like this, right? And they'll take bone plating at the end to help them with those early game trades. Yeah." (01:33:12)
  • "You're going to take second wind um for those early game trades. So, nullifying orb versus bone plating. Is it something that junglers that all that often go for resolve will often take nullifying orb instead of bone plating? So bone plating if you proc all three of the bone pladings during a fight you will get more value than the nullifying orb right for most part of the game. And with nullifying orb, if they don't proc all three, you'll get more value from nullifying orb, but also nullifying orb has a longer cooldown. But in the jungle, usually in skirmishes only you those 30 seconds won't matter because you're not going to have fight every 30 seconds, right? Want to play when you're GMed? Sure. So bomb bling is just 90% of the time superior, but I have seen some people take nullifying or I do think you should just go bone plating to be honest. It's it just feels more consistent, right?"
